Shed This Earth came to life with members from several well-known CT & NY bands in July 2005. Playing their first gig to the now infamous Slamfest crowd, things were destined to be fast-paced for the rising metalcore band. Within less then a year the band performed at the largest venues in CT with national acts Kittie, Dead By Wednesday, The Agony Scene and Unbroken Wings. The band was featured on the 2006 Ozzfest/Ozzbreast DVD Vol II w/ 100 Demons and Temple of Brutality (a side project of Dave Ellefson of Megadeth) as well as being featured on LOLLIPOP Magazine's CD Sampler alongside Hard Rock legends Alice in Chains.
In early 2006 the band went into the Carriage House (Pantera, The Deftones) to record an EP. While in the midst of working on the EP, several members sited personal reasons for leaving the band, leaving original members Tom Grin and Omar Torres unsure of the bands future. Both members decided to continue forward, but only if they could find new members of equal talent and commitment to the project. Around the same time, they had developed a family-like friendship with another soon-to-be Thrust Music band, No Less Than Everything. In an almost unheard of offer of friendship and support, three members of No Less (Gary Crumb, Mike Jackson and Tom Hawes) offered to hold double-duty in the next lifespan of Shed This earth, right in the midst of recording their own full-length album! In a show of diversity and talent, Tom Hawes picked up the second guitar position, leaving no doubt of his rounded and incredible skills.
Currently, Shed This Earth is reworking old and new songs, and rehearsing for Slamfest II - the place where it all started. Through the winter of 2006 Shed This Earth will go underground in support of helping No Less finish their album; writing and rehearsing when they can. Intentions are to finish the EP early 2007 with the new members and carve their name in the national music world.
