JACOBI WICHITA PRE-ALBUM REVIEW!
As written by slugmag.com:
Jacobi Wichita
Nada
Thrust Music
Street: 11.06
Jacobi Wichita = Glassjaw + Mars Volta + Coheed & Cambria
It’s about time that a band like Jacobi Wichita came out. I have been waiting for a group to meld an old post hardcore style with a newer sound of progressive brawn. Nada opens with the soaring “Hey, Hey, Hey … Take It Easy” and never comes down. Each track is pleasurable and painful, kind of like a fresh pair of nipple clamps. These dudes are the future of gratuitous rhythms:Imagine Daryl Plaumbo with road rage beating up the whole band of Between the Buried and Me at a Beach Boys concert and leaving them for dead while all the members of Refused run away screaming in high-pitched terror. These guys are all about keeping the pimp hand high. The only complaint I have about this album is that there are only seven tracks. Make a full-length or die. –Jon Robertson
(ps - they have a few details wrong, the full length will be done in December, and world domination will follow shortly there after. Oh, and who named the album "Nada"? For those who understand the mistake, that's funny shit.)

NO LESS BACK IN STUDIO!
Very few unsigned bands in the North-East have had as much anticipation for new material as our boys of 'No Less Than Everything' have, who at the end of October will be heading in to do a very heavy session with our favorite producer John Naclerio of Nada Recording Studios. The guys have been stuck in limbo of killer new material, summer gigs, and most importantly evolutions within themselves as musicians (and as a band), and are eager to get the product of their long-calculated and known-to-be-perfected sound out to their fans very soon.
Amidst a lot of buzz of the question '.. can a band this talented really be stuck and incapable of finishing their debut effort?', I am ecstatic to report that the rumors can all be snuffed out, and that the guys are ready to turn-heads with their next concentrated effort.
Keep an eye out for November 1st on their myspace page for a sneak peak of the first of the new songs to be featured on the album! www.myspace.com/nolessthaneverything.
Targeted Release date of Full Length Album, March 2008.

JACOBI ALBUM DONE IN DEC!
You read that correctly... Somehow, amidst our every attempt to postpone and self-wreck our intended release dates, the JW guys have now completed two major sessions at Nada Recording Studios with famed producer John Naclerio, and are locked in to complete their debut full-length album in December. This last session will complete 11 Songs (plus bonus tracks) that will make up what we know will be a truly one-of-a-kind, head-turning debut effort.
So hang on tight, because January 2008 will bring the release this long awaited musical journey.
Targeted Release date of Full Length Album, February 2008.

SLAMFEST 3 WRAP-UP
3 up.. 3 down! Another incredible year is in the books for SLAMFEST! This year featured an incredible line-up of talented bands, and absolutely everyone rocked the stage. Vendors were kicking it, Kids were have a great time and of course, the skate park was OUT OF CONTROL with kids bringing it. Every year it amazes us to see the support we get for this event and to watch it grow. We'd like to thank everyone who showed up and helped out in whatever way you contributed... without you guys it just wouldn't be the same.

SLAMFEST 3 INFO
Holy Sh!t. Has it really been so long since we've updated the news on our site? Well its with good reason. Since we've last posted, Jacobi Wichita has been back to the studio, finished FOUR more songs with accomplished braniac/producer John Naclerio (My Chemical Romance, Senses Fail, Matchbook Romance, etc. etc.) and is well on their way to finishing their full-length album which should be right on track for Christmas of this year!
Meanwhile, there's this tiny little event called "SLAMFEST" that is now in its third year. This year's event is bigger then ever, with support from underground Indie Monster Record Label Trustkill, offering "Crash Romeo", who are coming right off of this year's Warped Tour. Along with them will be another great band, "Vampire For Hire". Now with full label support, and skate shops like BODEGA, UTOPIA, KULTJAH, CELL, SKIMARKET, and vendors like SOBE, QUIZNOS - the event is just off the charts. Added last minute to the band lineup is "TROPHY SCARS", replacing our friends PLANESIDE who are not going to be able to make it.
The event Starts at 10am, and bands start at 11am and go all day until sundown. The event is STILL 100% free, accept a $5 parking fee for out of towners.
Fairfield County Weekly wrote a great little article that can be seen here: http://www.fairfieldweekly.com/article.cfm?aid=2963.

JACOBI WICHITA AT NADA STUDIOS
What an incredible week its been. Just got home from spending a week in Nada Recording Studios, the home of renowned producer John Naclerio (Senses Fail, My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance, Just Surrender, etc). Working with John is a dream-come-true for myself and the guys from JW. From the moment we arrived, he was pure business but one of the nicest people we've met in the industry so far. By the end of the week, not only do we consider him to be a permenant part of the JW team, but the band now has an incredible announcement to make!
In early March of 2007, just a few short months away from now, Jacobi Wichita will be beginning work on their first full-length album. The album will feature some of the songs that have given them the buzz they are currently running on as well as a ton of other brand new jems. This is a band you don't want to sleep on. Having come from different sounding bands in the past, they've done metal, hardcore, punk, altnernative, screamo, hip-hop -- you name it. And they've now come into their own and have created a sound that includes not some, but all of their influences in an incredible concoction of sounds that has to be heard to believe it. One of the most down to earth bands in the scene right now - there is no sound that they are afraid of writing, if they feel it, they drop it. Its that simple. And you'll feel it too. Trust!
So if you haven't gotten a bulletin yet, go to www.myspace.com/jacobiwichita and add them as a friend right away. And peep the new tracks going up today to their player! And get ready because JW has just taken the front-runner position of our bands for 2007 and they plan on bringing this one all the way from their souls, to the bank.

THE BIG MINI BENEFIT.
Thrust music will be collaborating with our good friends Dave Brown and his crew in organizing The Big Mini Benefit, an effort to raise donations for CT Hospice, a non-profit organization that assists many familys in CT with terminally ill relatives during their time of extreme need. This is an incredible concept for an even more worthy cause. We're honored to be a part of the event.
The event is tentatively scheduled for May of 2007. Watch www.myspace.com/bigminibenefit for information and updates.

JACOBI WICHITA READY TO HIT THE STUDIO!
The band formerly known as a symbol, oops, as Athena Surrender, Defayo Jr., etc., is currently getting ready for their first major recording effort as Jacobi Wichita. They will be recording an EP of 4 brand new songs from Nov 27-30 at Nada Recording Studios with acclaimed producer John Naclerio who has worked with our friends These Green Eyes, as well as My Chemical Romance, Matchbook Romance, Senses Fail, etc.
The guys have been working their tails off in pre-production perfecting their sound for the upcoming session. Watch www.myspace.com/jacobiwichita for information and updates.

NO LESS ADVANCES IN EMERGENZA BAND CONTEST!
To no one's surprise, the fellas of No Less Than Everything have advanced to the next round in this past Sunday's Emergenza band contest held at Up or On the Rocks (Hartford, CT). Also doing well was our good friends After The Fall. The night included close to 10 bands from a very wide range of sounds and genres. Both bands overcame poor positioning on the lineup (late time slots) to still blow away everyone in attendence.
The next round of the contest will be held at the same venue, March 30, 2007. Watch www.myspace.com/nolessthaneverything for information and updates.

JACOBI WICHITA ADDED TO THRUST MUSIC FAMILY!
With great pleasure we introduce the newest member of the Thrust Music Family, JACOBI WICHITA! These guys have been working their asses off and have finally found the right combination of guys and are working hard to develop a unique sound that we believe will help them to cut through the sea of cliche bands currently saturating the market.
Talks are in place about new events and recording opportunities, but don't hold your breath - we're still recovering from Slamfest and some of these things take a little time to really make something worthwhile. So for now, visit them on myspace and send them a congratulations. Also keep up to date with the tour dates page as we'll be adding new dates shortly, as well as adding their merch to the site to help the guys out.
Drinks everybody, drinks.

SLAMFEST II INCREDIBLE SUCCESS!
Another year, another bunch of incredible memories! This year's event grew more then twice the attendence of last year, the bands were incredible, the vendors were awesome (Big thanks to Sobe and SubRosa for hooking it up). By the end of the day rumors of "Slamfest the Tour" were going around the venue, so we'll keep you posted on that.
Just a quick update since its been awhile, saying how great the day was and how happy we were to pull this off this incredible event again. There is more video and photo footage then we know what to do with, so hang tight, its going to take awhile but we'll get it all sorted out and posted up for you to check out.
For now, check out the tour page to see who's on tour and what gigs are coming up. Lots of news to release soon, so check back often!

ATHENA SURRENDER UPDATE
We've been told by the guys formerly known as Athena Surrender that they will be debuting a new band name for SLAMFEST, (not defayo jr., yet an even NEWER, BIGGER, BADDER name!). The band has been taking part of the last year to refind themselves and a new sound, still based in their heavy roots, but more expiremental in every other way. These young guys are really pushing themselves to stand apart from the rest of 'what everyone else is trying to sound like', and we at THrust Music think they're onto something big. Not to mention, they're super cool guys and so we wish them the very best. They will be performing a new set of unheard music Saturday at the Acoustic Cafe, and then again they'll be making waves at the Raindate for Slamfest Sunday September 17th in Norwalk. Check the guys out.
******************************
THESE GREEN EYES IN THE STUDIO
We've only heard bits and pieces, but from what we have heard - whatchout. TGE is really digging deep this time through in the studio and they'll be breaking new music at the raindate for Slamfest Sunday Semptember 17th in Norwalk. For more info check them out: www.myspace.com/thesegreeneyes

CT LEGENDS DISMAY IS BACK!!!!
One of the most commonly heard responses out on the promotional trail for Slamfest was 'oh, Ian's playing? Wow I havent seen Dismay in forever! And that's a testament to how long these guys have been bringing it, from right here in CT. They were at the forefront of everything heavy some years ago and are back at it today bringing old and new music to life. Get ready, Dismay is back... For more info check them out: www.myspace.com/therealdismay

SLAMFEST WEATHER FORECAST
Within the course of 24 hours, Saturday's weather forecast went from 'Sure to be the most beautiful weekend of the summer' to '70% chance of rain'. Of course no one knows what will really happen until Saturday morning when we all look up in the sky. But here's how things might go down (as of now) if the Gods of Heavy Metal decide to rain down on us...
Friday Night - Check weather reports
If its looking horrible, we'll cancel the event for the day. There is a raindate two weeks later that the city has reserved for us.
Saturday Morning - Check weather reports
First thing in the morning the Thrust Music crew will be taking a ride through Calf Pasture Beach to see in-person how it looks. Remember, last year the weather looked HORRIBLE from everywhere 3+ miles away from the beach. But once you were in the beach (which is on a peninsula of sorts), the weather held out and we had one of the most incredible days, right up to the last minute when it finally broke as the last band had just finished.
We'll post weather or not the event is still on or going to be cancelled for the day here and on myspace.
REGARDLESS OF SLAMFEST BEING POSTPONED TIL A RAINDATE OR NOT, THE 'OFFICIAL AFTERHOURS' WILL GO ON WITH AS MANY OF THE BANDS AS WE CAN SQUEEZE ONTO THE LINEUP. THE AFTERHOURS IS AT THE ACOUSTIC CAFE, ON FAIRFIELD AVE IN BLACKROCK (BRIDGEPORT, CT). IF IT RAINS, WE WILL MOST LIKELY BE STARTING THE AFTERHOURS EARLIER IN THE EVENING... SO CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFO!
August 29, 2006
GETTING READY FOR SLAMFEST II!
Its that time again and we're less then a week away from our very own Slamfest event. This show has become a fast favorite of any band thats played the show and we're excited to have twice the bands on this year's lineup. Last minute add-ons include THESE GREEN EYES, and CT ROLLER GIRLS. The weather is supposed to be incredible so mark your calenders now and come out early to support this incredible lineup of talent.
Also don't forget that the official afterhours is being held at the Acoustic Cafe in Black Rock (bridgeport, CT) for our 21+ friends who can't get enough of the bands during the day and want to mix, mingle and get wasted with your favorite bass players. :)
[There was a mix-up between afterhours venues and Thrust Music WILL be making up a show at our good friends at Buffalo Bills in Monroe in the next month and a half. Check back for more info, we owe them a huge night.]

SHED THIS EARTH ON LOLLIPOP MAGAZINE CD SAMPLER
Shed This Earth's song "From The Truth", will be featured on Lollipop Magazine's CD sampler disc, distributed for free at this year's LocoBazooka in Mass, Sunday August 13th. If you live in the north-east and haven't heard of Locobazooka, you must not have a pulse or be living under a rock. This years event features a reunited Alice in Chains (w/ new singer.. duh), Buck Cherry, Wicked Wisdom, RA, Powerman 5000 and Burn In Silence, along with probably 40 other regional acts!
Big thanks to our new friends at Lollipop Magazine for their interest in Shed This Earth.

SHED THIS EARTH ON OZZFEST/OZZBREAST DVD
Check it out... Our song "From The Truth" will be featured on Vol II of this years "The Painted Girls of Ozzbreast" DVD, to be distributed at all dates of ozzfest 2006. Big thanks to Opus (Dead By Weds, Alcoholica, etc) and Bill (Rezin) for the opportunity.
If you don't know, its near impossible to get your music to Ozzfest, even if you are one of the featured artists there are all kinds of rules and limitations to how you can sell / distribute your music so that no one artist gets more promo then any other... This is a girls-gone-wild style video featuring body painting onsite at ozzfest, and features a huge lineup of incredible artists. The release we are on (Vol II) features 100 Demons, 25 to Life, and Temple of Brutality (feat. Dave Ellison ex-megadeth)... Our good friends Dead By Wednesday are on Vol I (as is great local band Priapism) ∓ Vol III.
We will try to have copies for sale through myspace and our website; or if you hit any of our tourdates this year they'll be out with our merch area - that is if there are any left. And if you go to any Ozzfest dates, be sure to stop by the painting tent and check out the dvds and you can pick one up there too, but get em before they are gone. These WILL quickly become collectors editions.

NO LESS WORKING ON ALBUM AT ZING STUDIOS!
No Less has begun work on their debut album at ZING Studios in Western Mass, home to Killswitch Engage Guitarist/Producer, Adam D. While Adam is not working on the project himself (bigger bands and bigger budgets understandly still get priority for now), his assistant engineer Eric Arena (The Room) will be engineering and producing the album. In case you haven't had your blood pressure checked in the last 3 years, ZING is the number one source for any good metal/core that is coming out into the states these days - and these guys KNOW what they are doing. Unearth, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage and many more incredible bands have recorded at Zing and No Less is hoping to join the ranks of bands from the NorthEast to keep an eye out for. More info and updates to follow.
